About us…
Konoba Knez opened its doors in early 2018. It is located in the small coastal village of Pobrežje, about 8 km from the city of Dubrovnik.
Historically, the local population of this small suburban area was primarily engaged in agriculture and livestock farming. The first tourist visits to Pobrežje were recorded in the 1970s, mainly as one-day excursions from Dubrovnik. Hosts would prepare traditional dishes, and guests would enjoy food, pleasant company, and the traditional dance “Linđo.”
Today, there is a noticeable lack of this type of authentic offer, while at the same time the development of apartment accommodation is increasing.
The desire to preserve the authentic form of tourism in Pobrežje, along with offering traditional food prepared according to old recipes, became the main motivation for establishing this rural household. By opening the tavern, the Knez family created a traditional setting where they offer guests an unforgettable experience—one that reflects the warmth and rich gastronomic heritage of this region.
This idea was also inspired by our family’s long tradition in the butchery trade. Since as early as 1921, our family has been engaged in the processing and sale of meat and meat products in specialized shops. In contrast to the growing trend of fast tourism and apartment development, we strive to preserve the authentic natural beauty and historical heritage of the rural area of Pobrežje. We offer our visitors a touch of Dubrovnik’s history, combined with the rich flavors of our ancestors’ traditional gastronomy.

Our family of four is the heart and soul of the tavern—without us, it simply wouldn’t exist. With great dedication and love for what we do, we make sure you receive the best service and enjoy a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere throughout your stay.
We will provide you with unforgettable moments that you will surely wish to experience again. Surrounded by the warm and inviting ambiance of our tavern, you will feel right at home with your family or friends. Delight your loved ones by organizing a birthday surprise or a memorable anniversary—our team will do its best to fulfill all your wishes. We also organize various celebrations, as well as meetings and gatherings with colleagues.
Konoba Knez operates exclusively by prior reservation. The capacity is 70 seats, including both the indoor dining area and the outdoor terrace.

People are increasingly tired of city life and therefore seek to spend their holidays in quieter surroundings, enjoying nature and a relaxing atmosphere. Pobrežje is an ideal destination, as it offers a unique combination of proximity to one of the world’s most beautiful cities—Dubrovnik—and the peace of a rural environment. The Knez family farm is located just a 15-minute drive from Dubrovnik’s city center. Pobrežje attracts visitors through opportunities for relaxation, exploration of new surroundings, and various outdoor activities.
Near Pobrežje, there is a fortress built by the Italians in 1941 during World War II. From the fortress, there is a stunning view of the sea, the Elaphiti Islands, and the city of Dubrovnik itself.
We also offer our guests a tour of the family farm, a brief introduction to daily farm activities and maintenance, as well as the opportunity to interact with our domestic animals.
